ASIST Synchronizer keeps displaying: “This workstation’s login information is registered with another PC
 
 This error is because Synchronizer utility recognizes a duplicate key # and the MAC ID does not match what we have. The complete error message is following:

“This workstation’s login information is registered with another PC. For additional support, please e-mail ASIST Support at asist@nissan-usa.com."

Please send an e-mail to asist@nissan-usa.com to request us to fix this issue with complete information:
o How many pc's do you have?
o Type of computer? Please give more information on brand, hardware specifications, and operating system (e.g: Vista, XP SP1, XP SP2, etc)

ASIST Synchronizer Information Box keeps displaying - Latest updates not complete. Possible Internet communication issues...
 
 NOTE: If you have installed freeware music swapping software the ASIST Synchronizer may encounter the update not complete message. You will need to uninstall the freeware software.

If you have security software on your network and enabled it to connect to the ASIST servers and you still cannot connect. OR, if you do not have security software do the following:

1)Launch ASIST Synchronizer,

2) Click 'View Settings / Details',

3) Check 'Use Passive Mode' and click 'Okay',

4) Re-run ASIST Synchronizer 'Manual Update'.

If you are still receiving 'Latest updates not complete. Possible Internet communication issues...', please go to Contact Us and send us an email with your dealer code, and contact information.

ASIST Synchronizer - Unable to run ASIST Sync Run-time 5
 
 While running the ASIST Synchronizer (ASISTMailer.exe) I'm receiving the following error

Run-time error '5': Invalid procedure call or argument

High traffic on the network, please retry running your updates at your regular scheduled time.

ASIST Synchronizer Information Box keeps displaying - Latest updates not complete. Possible Internet communication issues...aunzip32.dll
 
 If the Status box under ASIST Version shows the following information in the Status window 'File not found: aunzip32.dll' please downlod the aunzip32.dll file and put in to the ASIST folder.

ASIST Synchronizer - Every update seems to take the same amount as it did the first time I ran the update, or longer.
 
 MS Windows 2000 users only.

If the administrator has locked out users from modifying the system registry, the administrator will need to make these changes so that user can run the ASIST Synchronizer.

1) Administrator must be logged onto computer and give full control to the ASIST keys in the registry.

2) Select Start, Run, and type'regedt32'

3) Locate and select the ASIST keys (ASIST, & ASIST_NET) located under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE key

3) Select the 'Security" menu, and select 'Permission'

4) Give 'Full Control" rights to the appropriate user groups.

ASIST Synchronizer - Unable to run ASIST Synchronizer Run-Time Error.
 
 While trying to run ASIST Synchronizer (ASISTMailer.exe) I'm receiving this error 'Run-time error'. Please follow these instructions:

1) Click on the attached download file 'VB Runtime Install',

2) Click 'Open',

3) Click 'Yes' to install....

4) Restart computer.

Retry running ASIST Synchronizer.

ASIST Synchronizer - When the Synchronizer is running my other programs don't respond as quickly.
 
 ASIST Synchronizer will use 100% of the computers processor while it is running. The application is connecting to the internet, downloading and updating data for ASIST. This is normal practice for most Windows products while downloading and updating data.

The ASIST Synchronizer has provided automatic update times for your convenience.

ASIST Synchronizer - 2023-Error in Extracting compressed file.
 
 If you are receiving the following error "2023- Error in Extracting compressed file. 50- C:\Asist\download\######.zip" it is possible that your computer has run out of hard drive space.

The initial installation of ASIST required 40GB of free hard drive space.

If you need to add more hard drive space to your computer you will need to reinstall ASIST, please email your request to asist@nissan- usa.com.

10 ASIST Synchronizer - We cannot verify your login information, please check your ID and password and try again.
 
 When ASIST Synchronizer begins to update the following error displays 'Your login information could not be verified. Please check the Dealer Code, Security Key Number and password..'

First, please remove and retype your Dealer Code, ASIST Security Key, Password and click the 'Okay' button.

If you are still receiving error message, please go to Contact Us to request your ASIST User Information.

11 ASIST Synchronizer - Database Connection Error (XP SP2 Installed)
 
 If the ASIST Support Center MDAC will not work because user has XP Service Pack 2 installed they will need to do the following:

1) Reinstall MDAC from the XP installation CD's that came with the computer, OR

2) Go to the download area under Microsoft's website and locate MDAC 2.8 SP1 and install, OR

3) If the above steps do not work and user has MDAC 2.81 installed you will need to repair MDAC 2.8 on XP. a) Locate the mdac.inf file in 'c:\windows\inf' folder (make sure that view hidden files and folder are turned on). b) Right click mdac.inf file and select Install, and when prompted for a location or cd, point to c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386 (or look for the i386 folder somewhere on the harddrive, or insert Windows CD. This should repair Mdac 2.8. c) Restart computer and if it ASIST-Nissan begins to reconfigure insert your installed ASIST DVD or CD it requests.

12 The detail synchronizer error includes a long number in it, what does it mean?
 
 The first six (6) numbers are the year, the month and the day (e.g. 071224 is 2007, December 24).

If that date is older than 2 months you will need to reinstall your ASIST application.

To request a new installation, please email your Dealer Code, and Key # to asist@nissan- usa.com.

If the date is earlier try and re-sync again, and if this does not fix the error, please contact ASIST support, as they will have to help with the database error.

13 ASIST Synchronizer -OCX Control- Use only if directed by the ASIST Support Team.
 
 This is only to be used under the direction of the ASIST support team.

Windows XP Users:

1: Exit ASIST Synchronizer (green dot not present in Windows Taskbar).

2: Please download and unzip the attached mswinsck.zip file - mswinsck.ocx to your c:\windows\system32 folder

3: Click windows task bar 'Start' button and select 'Run...' and type the command "regsvr32.exe c:\windows\system32\mswinsck.ocx" in the white space and click 'OK'

Windows 2000 Users:

1: Exit ASIST Synchronizer (green dot not present in Windows Taskbar).

2: Please download and unzip the attached mswinsck.zip file - mswinsck.ocx to your c:\winnt\system32 folder

3: Click windows task bar 'Start' button and select 'Run...' and type the command "regsvr32.exe c:\winnt\system32\mswinsck.ocx" in the white space and click 'OK'

Relaunch the ASIST Synchronizer and click Manual Update.

15 ASIST Sync Communication ERROR
 
 If ASIST is not updating and you find a Communication ERROR shown on the ASIST Synchronizer, please see the reported error Click Here. If shutting down and restarting the computer does not correct the Syncing ERROR then you will need to contact the ASIST Help Desk. We have determined that some computers are experiencing this ERROR due to a Windows XP update of the MDAC file. By either restarting or re-installing the MDAC, the ERROR is corrected. This is important to correct in order to receive new Technical Information. The latest MDAC is also available from http://support.microsoft.com/

16 Refreshing ASIST Workstation (recommendable)
 
 It is recommended to restart your ASIST Workstation at least once a week to refresh your PC.
