2  | Troubleshooting OPERATIONS MANUAL viewing issue (POP-UP blocker) on IE (Internet Explorer) |

| | To troubleshoot the pop-up blocker for viewing
OPERATIONS MANUAL on your CONSULT-III, please
follow these steps:
1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Select "Tools" (5 tabs from the left)
3. Select "Internet Options" (at the bottom)
4. Select "Advanced" Tab (far right)
5. Find "SECURITY" option at the bottom,
and check the first 2 boxes ("Allow active
content from CDs to run on My Computer"
and "Allow active content to run in files on
My Computer")
6. Exit out of Internet Explorer |

3  | CONSULT-III Version Display Information |

| | To locate the CONSULT-III version on your
Toughbook, please follow these steps:
1) Select "CONSULT-III" on ASIST
2) Once Consult-III is selected and displayed,
locate "SUB" button on the upper right-hand
corner and select it.
3) Once it is selected, please select the
picture button of "Version Display" from Sub-
Mode List (sixth item from top).
4) You should be able to see the CONSULT-III
Software Version Display on Toughbook

4  | Who do I put down as the "Registrant"? |
| |
| | During CONSULT-III Registration and Licensing
you are asked to enter in a "Registrant", it
is preferred to enter the name of the user who
is inputting the registration information, or
if you prefer a main contact person for your
CONSULT-III unit. |

5  | Why do I have to register my CONSULT-III Software, Version 8.17 and up now? |

| | Licensing and registering the CONSULT-III
software helps to ensure unauthorized use. |

6  | I understand that the CONSULT-III Toughbook has wi-fi? |

| | Yes, if your shop has a wireless network you
may have to contact your network administrator
to be able to use the wi-fi. |

7  | MS Windows Automatic Updates Must Be Turned Off |
| |
| | The CONSULT-III(3) application is validated
with the Windows version it came with. If you
add any Windows updates, your CONSULT-III
application may not work correctly. How to
Turn Off Windows Automatic Updates: 1.
Select Windows "Start" 2. Select "Control
Panel" 3. Locate and double click "Security
Center" 4. Locate and click "Automatic
Updates" 5. Select "Turn off Automatic
Updates" 6. Click "Apply" 7. Click "OK" |

8  | When I try to Register I receive an error saying the server is busy or unable to register at this time. |

| | Please check that your proxy setting are
correct under Advanced Settings. |

9  | CONSULT-III Software Installation HELP |

| | When installing Updated CONSULT-III Software,
please click "Yes" to allow the new software
to be installed.
It will replace the old software automatically
and please follow setup instructions.

10  | CONSULT-III Software Installation Information |
| |
| | If you are installing the software for the
first time you will have to select information
to set up your CONSULT-III Software.NOTE:
Computer restart may or may not be required.
If you have received an update, you may have
to uninstall the previous package, if you are
directed
Sometimes a patch is required to install over
a previous version, if that is the case we
would have both versions available for update
under the Applications list.
If your CONSULT-III software version is too
old you may be required to
manually uninstall before installing the new
package.
What if I get an error "setup.exe has
encountred an error and needs to close.."
or "Unable to check the registry.."? Please
contact ASIST and we will contact you as soon as
possible.

11  | Operations Manual Message - Macromedia Flash Player Security |

| | A Macromedia Flash Player Security message
will pop up if your Toughbook (C-III Unit) has
a
Macromedia Flash Player version 7 or higher.
If you get this message you need to do the
following: 1. Make sure your C-III Unit has
an
active Internet Connection. 2. Click
the 'Settings..' button located on the
Macromedia FlashPlayer Security screen. 3.
An Internet Flash Player Help window will
display, and then check the following: 'Always
Allow' and select 'Edit Locations' and locate
the following file 'C:\CONSULT-
III_OPM\main\c3_opm\ENG\body\sideMenu.swf' 4.
Exit out of Internet Explorer.

12  | If you are having trouble installing C-III Software |

| | If you receive error message during C-III
the installation process, please
UNINSTALL CURRENT C-III version manually.
1) On your workstation, go to Start Menu --
> Control Panel --> Add/Remove Programs,
then select CONSULT-III from program list
and then click on "REMOVE".
2) When prompted "Do you want to completely
remove the selected application and all of
its features?", click Yes.
3) Once it is finished, please rerun the
installation again on the C-III version

13  | I can't use the NATS decoder to reprogram my keys, why? |

Manual NATS button under the C-III Operations
Manual you may be missing the updated IC Card
driver. Please go to

referencing this information with your
dealer code, and contact information. |

14  | GT-R CSP Software Install – I have a valid internet connection but CSP Software Install fails, why? |

| | If you are a certified GT-R dealer and if you
are able to download updates in ASIST
Synchronizer then check the following and try
again:
1) Locate your Internet Options in Control
Panel,
2) Select Connections tab,
3) Select LAN Settings... and
check 'Automatically Detect Settings'.
or
If checked then un-check 'Automatically Detect
Settings'.
If the GT-R CSP Software still fails, please
contact the ASIST Support Hotline.

15  | Consult-III Error - NEXT GENERATION DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM! |

| | If you encountered Consult-III Error - NEXT
GENERATION DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM!, please un-
install and re-install your CONSULT-III.
You can go to Control Panel --> Add/Remove
Programs --> locate "Consult-III" to un-
install current C-III software
Then, you will get a pop-up to install current
C-III version. |

17  | MSVCIRT.dll error while opening CONSULT-III OPM |

| | While trying to open CONSULT-III OPM, I'm
receiving a 'MSVCIRT.dll error'. Please follow
these instructions:
1) Click on the attached download file 'VC
Runtime Install',
2) Click 'Open',
3) Click 'Yes' to install....
4) Restart computer.
Retry running C-III OPM.
